As a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin's College of Communications, Brian began his career at Third Coast Video. After polishing his online-editing and digital effects talents in Dallas, he moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and built a career as a visual effects artist, editor, and digital colorist. Serving as a lead artist at 525 Studios, he earned an Emmy nomination (Third Rock From the Sun), a Clio Award for the Budweiser "Frogs" campaign, and several International Monitor Awards.
During his 25 years spent working in Los Angeles, Brian collaborated regularly with many of LA's top visual effects companies including Sea Level, A52 and Digital Domain. Brian struck out on his own on September 11, 2001 when 525 was purchased by Liberty/Ascent Media, just as the visual effects workflow began to change. New technology made streamlining post-production possible, and he applied his technical expertise and artistic talent to create an all-digital process. He developed his digital color intermediary skills at Deluxe's EFILM in Hollywood, color-graded the feature films "Click" and "Zoom", then set about to re-design his coloring/finishing workflow for commercial clients.
In 2010 Brian brought his company home to Texas and opened Tone Visuals in order to deliver A-level talent and digital workflow to directors, editorial companies and advertising agencies. Tone Visuals allows projects with tight deadlines and shrinking budgets to begin as soon as the footage leaves any camera in use today. Brian enjoys the challenge of creating great work.
James is the rising star at Tone Visuals. After graduating high-school in Los Angeles. James began as a roto artist at several of the top VFX companies in LA, including a52, Brewster-Parsons and Hybrid Editorial.
After moving to Austin in 2011 James joined the team at Tone Visuals as a VFX and Smoke assist. Since that time, he has proven his proficiency with doing cleanup, conforms and compositing. James has also uses Resolve for color and assists with digital dailies, data management and I/O. James recently color graded an independent documentary film for a client based here in Austin.
A passionate musician with a love for the outdoors, James spends his spare time composing. playing and recording his own music and riding his mountain bike.
Elizabeth "Lisi" Buongiorno - EP/Managing Director
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin's College of Communications with a degree in advertising, Lisi pursued her passion for Spanish and international business in Mexico City. After her return to Texas, she worked for Exxon in their office systems division and later earned a degree in finance from The University of Texas at Dallas. She has served as Manager of Investor Relations for three publicly held companies, Chief Compliance Officer for a commodities trading firm, and started two small businesses in Texas. But she has an equal love of creative pursuits, and Lisi has trained as a classical pianist, painter, and on-air talent earning her SAG/AFTRA card in 1984.
After moving to Los Angeles in the late 90's, Lisi partnered with Brian Buongiorno to launch a post-production company offering clients a more streamlined workflow at a dramatic cost savings. In 2010 they brought the company home to Austin, Texas and began developing TAGS, a digital asset management system enabling clients and creatives to share, collaborate, and create spots in real time.
Once the clients leave, Lisi can be found digging in the garden, stretching on the yoga mat, or writing another book
